This time, Mercury will start to retrograde in your workaday sector (sixth house), and then back into your romance area (fifth house), so both will be affected. You will want to be sure you triple check every detail at work before handing in any projects to your boss or client. Socially, you really do have to double check phone numbers, addresses, and other details.
Let's say you are going to meet for a drink in a hotel. You may meet in one hotel, while your friend is waiting in another of the same name across town. (This happened to me just last month when I told my friend from San Francisco to meet me for drinks at the New York Helmsley Palace - he went to the wrong Helmsley Hotel, even though I had given him the correct address. Mercury retrograde all month is certain to cause difficulties in holiday shopping. It was on the news that a record number of people said they hoped to be given cash for the holidays. The news report went on to say that it used to be no one wanted to get or give cash, but then the recession came, and now 67percent said cash was their number one preferred gift. I tell you this so that you won't feel bad about giving money as a present.
I still like to make an effort by buying gifts, but with Mercury retrograde, I realize that our chances of pleasing our recipients is about to plummet to an all-time low this month. It is also possible that you may buy an electronic item, only to see the price drop significantly in January when a newer model comes out. Or, it may not work right, or not be something your recipient wanted. I feel gift certificates in electronic or computer stores like Best Buy or Apple is the way to go. Who would not want that?
You can shop for jewelry, clothing, perfume, and other such things from December 1 to 5, but after that, you will be just too close to Mercury retrograde to risk an expensive purchase.
Your work life is getting busier by the minute, so there will be pressure on the job. You usually are busy in January, but you probably are not used to seeing things so pressured and deadline oriented this soon. This could be a good sign for you, for it means you will be working - very needed. The pace will quicken when Mars tours your sixth house from December 7 to January 15.
If you are out of work, this has to be great news. You can find freelance and temporary work easily now, but if I were you, I would hold off on taking a permanent position. Your outlook for work shines brightly in about five months, so don't get overly committed to one company, as you may have to detangle yourself later to take the next offer. Hopefully, you will legally have the right to leave. You have such wonderful things coming!
Many Leos work in a creative profession, and if that describes you, you will have entered your most splendid period for the year for displaying originality. Keep presenting ideas, but realize that with Mercury retrograde, you will run into VIPs on vacation, or worse, people who can't quite make up their minds for final approval. The problem seems to involve an issue over money, and when things begin to blow up, things will get hot and you won't see it coming. Things will begin brewing on Friday, December 17, when the Sun and Uranus will be at hard angles to each other, and by Tuesday, December 21, things will be in a complete meltdown. It could also be that a friend knows how to fix a problem you are having with a mutual friend, but won't, even though they could help things very easily by making a small comment. (This may make you more upset with the friend who won't help than the one who won't pay!)
You have had a lot of financial nightmares in the past few years, and you will be happy to hear this is among the very last ones you will see. Once Uranus leaves Pisces, a place it has occupied since 2003, on March 11, 2011, you will be looking at a whole new picture, and it will be one you will really love. I should add that there is always the possibility that your friend will be in crisis, and that you will not be in an argument. There are different ways this eclipse can work out.
