For most of us, the dawning of September harks back to days we would be excited about going back to school. We get new clothes and shoes, pencils and notebooks, and look forward to reconnecting with our friends again. In some ways, not too much has changed! The weather is often crystal clear and bright, not as hot, and that seems to promote clearer thinking.

A news story I heard recently reported approximately 10 percent of workers take freelance work to supplement their regular income and nearly 27 percent said they would take on a second job in the coming months. If you are thinking of doing the same thing, apparently you are not alone. This is not to say that holding two jobs is easy - it is not. Usually it is a decision made from a practical standpoint amid a difficult economy.
I was thinking about your chart yesterday, dear Aries, and I was coming to the conclusion that if you did want to get a second extra side job, it might be wise to do so in mid-to-late September before other applicants begin to apply for those side jobs. This could be your mate or steady date, or it could be a collaborator or expert you've hired or even a competitor who seems to have become very active and is forcing you to respond to certain challenges. (The competitor could be an individual or a whole company that competes with yours). As an Aries, you're always up for a dare or contest of wills, so this news shouldn't faze you - in fact, it probably energizes you.
In the first half, from September 1 to 13, Mars will be in Libra and so those collaborations of all kinds that I just mentioned will be very pronounced.
Mars will be in Scorpio later, from September 14 until October 28, and will tour your house of credit, loans, scholarships, court settlements, taxes, severance and unemployment insurance, child support, and other side income, so your mind will be on one of these matters.
Usually having Mars in the eighth house as you will have forces up expenses or could cause arguments, say, over a commission or a divorce settlement. That may not happen because you also have Mars traveling close to Venus, so it appears you can find ways to bring in some substantial sums. Venus is generous, and her presence is a very upbeat vibration. I also like that Mars will be beautifully angled to Pluto in what is considered an opportunity aspect. It will be up to you to find a way to make money from this aspect and to find good compromises if negotiating, but the point is, this month, you can!
If you find that you need to negotiate a new position, you may do very well with company benefits. In fact, those may be the juicy side of the deal, so if you are not entirely happy with the salary being offered, you may make up for that shortfall by negotiating great health insurance, vacation days, pension plan, and other perks.
If you really don't like the salary at all (and it is not even close to what you hoped to get) but do like the work and job description, negotiate a workweek comprised of three or four days for the same salary the company named. You will be able to complete everything in that time (or you may offer to stay late those days), and be able to earn money from other sources on the days you have off. Or, you may save in childcare expenses with a shorter week. Many companies allow that now, and this arrangement may suit you.

This would be a great month to pay more attention to your heath. This will be the perfect month to get back to exercise and to design a fitness routine for yourself. The new moon in Virgo is the ideal new moon of the year to do this and in a matter of weeks, you'll be looking and feeling great. Don't wait until January to institute your fitness resolutions - do it now, when you have powerful cosmic support. You might want to treat yourself to ten training sessions or pick up some new workout gear. Whatever brings enthusiasm is to be embraced.
I know my motivator may sound strange to some, but I get excited about having a different magazine and a newspaper to read on the elliptical machine for an hour at dawn each day. (I also do different classes afterward). Knowing I will have something new to read each day always gets me going in the morning, and I never allow myself to read magazines at home - that has to be my gym treat. This simple habit has me going to the gym two hours every day, seven days a week, and it is always fun!
The sixth house rules all the steps you take to bolster your health and prevent problems, so because you have this new moon, schedule dental appointments, blood pressure and cholesterol checks, eye exams, a hearing test - whatever is on your list.

The full moon, September 23, falling at 0 degrees Aries, is complicated, for it comes with some of the sweetest and most affirming aspects possible, and some of the hardest, rolled into one. Anytime you see zero degrees mentioned, it's important to take notice, because that instantly translates into "this is forceful" because zero is considered a super-energetic degree. In fact, it's so important that astrologers have a name for it, "the Aries point," which is akin to the life force. We don't name many degrees in astrology, so you can be sure that when we do, it's worth watching for it will have clout. Something is coming to a final stage that is very, very important to you.
On one hand, we have Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, very close, within two degrees, which is FANTASTIC. Uranus is there too, which will bring an element of surprise. However, and here is where I drop the other shoe, Saturn will oppose the full moon and by September 30 conjunct the Sun. This tells me that you MIGHT have problems with a romantic relationship or a creative project, or be concerned about one of your children. (Not all these areas would light up, but just one.) The Sun is the natural ruler of your fifth house, which is why you would need to watch all three areas.
This full moon will affect you if you were born at the end of March, near March 21 plus or minus five days. It could also affect you if you have planets in Aries at 0 to 6 degrees. Pluto will also be applying pressure from your tenth house of career, so you may feel some heat from a VIP, or you may be in a career interview situation where you find a pressing need to step up your game. If the latter is the case, you can do it, dear Aries. Remember, however, you will have Jupiter very close to support you like a big bodyguard, no small advantage.
Romantically, your best period will be while Jupiter remains in Aries, from September 1 through 8. On September 9, Jupiter will head back to Pisces, and you will have to wait patiently until January 22, 2011, until Jupiter will be back to your sign again.
Having Jupiter in Aries is the single best aspect you could have to find the perfect true love. From June through August, and continuing in that first week of September, you've had Jupiter in Aries, but it helped mainly March-born Aries. If you didn't feel your luck was bright enough, you will like early 2011, for Jupiter will touch every single degree of Aries from 0 to 29 degrees (that's the full deck) before moving into Taurus in early June 2011.
However, as said, your love life could prove tricky to navigate near the full moon, September 23. The conjunction of the Sun and Saturn on September 30 isn't my favorite day either - it's likely to be a hard work kind of day, not one suitable for lightness and fun. However, if you make a promise to your significant other on this day, you can be sure that promise will be one that lasts forever!
